Always enjoy her books.
I love Jordan Silver so much that when I see a book she's written I automatically buy. I have every single one of her books. Nobody writes a dominant alpha man like she does. With that being said this book was missing a story to me. It was all one big sex scene. Everything felt one dimensional to me. I ended up skimming the sex scene looking for some scenes that didn't involve sex, sex, and sex. I almost couldn't finish reading it, and that isn't normal when I read a JS book. It was just too much. Please bring back the Jordan Silver that wrote the Lyon books, the Seal books, Biker's Baby Girl, Brett's Little Headaches, Talon's Heart, and Passion.
I just want to say that I am disappointed. I have loved Jordan Silver for years. When I first found her I wan on pins and needles waiting for her books. I don't know if she changed or I did, but this, was not for me. I'm not writing this to criticize, just to say, I loved when she wrote stories with hot sex included, not hot sex with a few conversations included. Billionaire, Dangerous Love, Talon's Heart and others will always be favorites to me, but this, not so much. Because I love Jordan's work so much, I guess I will have to these over, n over again when I want that Silver Flair. Haven't read Lion in a while. Guess it's time to huh. Thanks anyway.
... If he had been faithful to her, but he wasn't. He says he was worried that she would be traumatized when he got run off but it took him 5 years to come back. By that time she was back in her shell. Now she HAD been faithful. Too bad he couldn't say the same. Of course, he says "What did you expect?" Well I would have expected him to be true if he supposedly loved her so much.
Otherwise there just wasn't quite enough plot this time. There were some minor loose ends and the supposed OW thing was so pathetic that it wasn't worth including in the story IMHO. It was thrown in that the OW had been doing the fiancé all along, so he was pathetic. Her father was pathetic too.
No one cared enough about the h to actually show her she was loved, including the H. The H uses a belt on her at one point. This has been my biggest pet peeve with these stories. It's abuse, plain and simple. This is supposed to be some sort of lesson for her to learn. Nope. It's abuse and a form of brainwashing.
Having said all that, I continue to buy JS books now. I'll keep hoping for another "Talon's Heart" or "The Billionaire" both of which are lovely and don't include using a belt on the poor h.
The plot and characters needed more substance. I like the authors other books. This one just did not do it for me.
Rock is intense and a very possessive and jealous dominant alpha male. He never had a problem getting the ladies in his bed, quite frankly they flock to him like crazy and tend to vie with each other over him. Then he saw Ashley one day and she turned his world upside down with one look. His mission now is to put a claiming on Ashley, which is what he set out to do.
Ashley is an introvert, her upbringing as contributed to her behavior and how she views and interacts with the outside world. But meeting Rock, sent a shock to her system and wake up something inside her worth exploring. The way he makes her feel and the things he introduce her to, as her craving so much more. Their exploration of each other turned into something beautiful and Irresistible for them.
Then her dad found out about them and threatened to end Rock if he does not stop seeing her as well as what he will do to Rock's dad insurance seeing how ill he is and he needs it to help with his medical expenses. Ashley sided with her parents and denied Rock in order to save him and his dad from her father's wrath.
But, will Rock seeing it as such and keep a promise he made her?
This was one of the most juvenile books I have ever read. The description was very misleading and I feel like my money was wasted.
